Heater Seals & Flues
Maintain healthier indoor air quality by retrofitting any gas or wood heaters in your home with seals and flues.
Flues are a duct, pipe, or opening in a chimney that take exhaust gases from a fireplace, furnace, water heater, boiler, or generator to the outdoors. As major sources of fine combustion particles and gas leaks, make sure the heaters are well sealed, flued to the outside, and regularly maintained. However, the healthiest thing you can do with gas or wood heaters in your home is to avoid using them altogether.
Consider installing efficient electrical heating where possible.
If you’re renting, consider using a portable energy-efficient electric heater instead of gas or wood heaters.
