Mechanical Ventilation or MVHR

Installing Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) is a great way to help to get a constant supply of fresh air and potentially avoid condensation, mould, and high levels of CO2. MVHR takes the thermal energy from the warm air within a home and uses it to cool or heat the outside fresh air as it’s drawn inside. Designed to operate continuously, MVHR systems use very little energy and are separate from air conditioning systems. They’re most effective and beneficial in airtight homes, so ensure that your windows and doors are well sealed. It’s a good idea to consult a professional to discuss the specific details of your home before purchasing one.

Regularly opening your windows can be an easy way to have some fresh air in your space if you’re not able to install MVHR or are renting.
